Junebug

Junebug is a small, sweet girl who is often mistaken for a puppy. She is 1-2 years old and has overcome a great deal to get to where she is today. Junebug arrived at the shelter in very rough condition, suffering from severe mange and extreme fear of people, which led to her being unhandleable. She has since made incredible progress, learning to walk on a leash and even accepting and reciprocating affection. However, Junebug still experiences panic when approached by anyone she doesn't know well, and she may try to get away. She also has a tendency to be "mouthy" when scared, not with intent to harm, but by placing her mouth on skin. She has never injured anyone working with her, but she requires an experienced, patient, and dedicated owner who is committed to continuing her training, ideally with the help of a professional trainer. Junebug has done well with other dogs and can be vocal during play.

Junebug needs a patient and experienced owner who is dedicated to continuing her training. She would likely thrive in a quieter environment where she can build trust at her own pace.

Ongoing Health

Junebug has fully recovered from her mange. She is spayed and vaccinated.

Training & Support

Junebug still panics when approached by unfamiliar people and can be mouthy when scared. She will benefit greatly from continued positive reinforcement training and potentially professional guidance to help her adjust and build confidence.
