Tornado

Tornado is a patient, quiet pup and a survivor of severe animal cruelty. He is deeply fearful of human interaction and will need an experienced, dedicated adopter who can help him learn to trust at his own pace.

Ideal Home

Tornado needs a quiet, low-traffic, adult-only home or a home with mature teenagers ages 12 and up. He is a significant flight risk when panicked, so a secure routine and extremely attentive handling are essential.

Tornado is more comfortable around other dogs than people. Once familiar with a companion, he may play with small dogs and toys, and he politely coexists with unfamiliar, low-energy dogs. He also shows gentle curiosity toward larger dogs.

Ongoing Health

Tornado is a survivor of a severe animal cruelty situation and is currently overwhelmed and terrified by new people, noises, and environments. He freezes when approached and may tolerate touch because he shuts down from stress. His caregivers are helping him gradually adjust to human contact.

Training & Support

Tornado has a long road ahead to decompress and learn how to be a dog. He needs someone experienced with deeply fearful, shut-down dogs who will give him patience and allow him to progress at his own pace.
