Huey is a handsome and athletic 2-year-old, weighing about 56 lbs, who we suspect might be a Labrador mix. He's a wonderful dog with a great balance of energy and affection, always ready for an adventure or a cuddle. His foster family has been a huge help in preparing him for his forever home, and they've noted his intelligence, eagerness to please, and his ability to settle indoors. Huey is house-trained, crate-trained, and loves to follow his people around like a quiet shadow, always wanting to be close.
Ideal Home
Huey thrives in a home with a yard where he can run and play. Apartment living is not ideal for him, as he enjoys his freedom outdoors and is still working on his leash skills in busy urban environments. While he has adjusted well to busy households with children and other dogs, long-term living with children is not for him. He's best suited for a calm, structured environment.
Ongoing Health
Huey is up-to-date on all vetting, including vaccinations, deworming, and flea/heartworm prevention. He has been microchipped and is deemed healthy for travel by our veterinarian.
Training & Support
Huey is a smart and motivated boy who responds well to confident leadership and clear boundaries. He has mastered crate training and is house-trained. A common behavior for Huey is resource guarding, specifically around food. This is easily managed by feeding him in his crate, separate from other dogs. Alternatively, a one-dog household would eliminate this concern entirely. With consistent structure and a loving approach, Huey will continue to thrive.

Transporation
Huey is available for adoption anywhere in the US. He can be transported to locations near or into NV, MT, CO, UT, ID, OR, WA, Canada, and the East Coast. Our PNW transports utilize a USDA licensed semi-truck with air conditioning and attendants, while East Coast transport is via a private, air-conditioned 3LP-run van or bus. Transport details and pick-up locations will be provided.
