Meet Sammi! This handsome adult beagle is ready to trade in his past for a future filled with love and adventure. Sammi is a medium-sized boy who enjoys watching the world go by from his hindquarters, perhaps dreaming of being a gopher. He's overcome a lot and is now seeking a family to help him forget what he's endured and embrace the good life.
Ideal Home
Sammi would thrive in a home with a confident, dog-friendly canine sibling, as he forms strong bonds and enjoys companionship. He's adapted well to life outside of Ridglan Farms and enjoys walks, hikes, running, and biking, making him a great adventure buddy. He prefers not to be left alone for long periods and wants to be included in daily life. Sammi is shy but warms up to adults and older children. A securely fenced yard is a must for this beagle. He is not suited for apartment living.
Ongoing Health
Sammi is neutered and up-to-date on all his vetting. It's recommended to continue his raw food diet to keep his tummy stable, as digestive issues can be common in beagles from his previous situation. Beagles from Ridglan Farms are also prone to vaccine reactions, so he'll need Benadryl administered 24 hours before and after vaccinations to prevent this.
Training & Support
Sammi is leash-trained and enjoys outdoor excursions. He's learning to navigate social cues, and his future canine sibling should be understanding and tolerant, as Sammi may not always pick up on subtle social signals. While he's doing wonderfully in public, he can be a bit jumpy with loud noises or large moving objects. He greets people with a gentle approach and a wagging tail. He does spectacularly free-roaming the house and should not be crated. He is house-trained with a regular schedule, but a belly band can be used "just in case" during extended absences.

- Live within 5 hours of our headquarters in Whitewater, WI.
