Pirate

Pirate is a sweet, happy 4.5-month-old male Terrier and Retriever mix who weighs about 21.8 lbs. He's ready to leave his mama and find his own human family! Pirate loves playing with toys and has plenty of energy for zoomies, but he also enjoys snuggles. He's looking forward to going on walks and making new doggy friends.

Ideal Home

Pirate would love a home where he has plenty of opportunities to play with toys and get his energy out. He's also looking forward to exploring his new neighborhood on walks once he's a little older and would appreciate opportunities to make doggy friends. Potential adopters should be aware that puppies under 6 months of age need multiple potty breaks and exercise throughout the day. Adopters with an 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet Pirate's needs.

Ongoing Health

Pirate has received age-appropriate vaccines but may not be fully vaccinated yet. It is the adopter's responsibility to ensure he receives any remaining puppy vaccines on schedule. Until fully vaccinated, he is at a greater risk for illness than an adult dog. Pirate has not yet been neutered, and this must be done no later than August 15, 2026, as per the adoption contract. A non-refundable spay/neuter deposit will be collected if you would like Wags to cover the cost at one of their partner vets.

Training & Support

Pirate will need to work on his house training and attend obedience school to grow into a well-socialized dog.

Transporation

Pirate is currently in a DC area foster home and transport is available.
