Riggs

Riggs is a sweet, gentle, and shy nine-month-old Anatolian Shepherd who came to us from a hoarding situation with over 40 dogs. While he was well-cared for, he didn't have many opportunities for socialization. Riggs is a natural introvert, preferring a calm approach and time to observe before engaging. He loves other dogs and cats, and would do best in a home with a confident, friendly dog to help him feel more secure. He also needs a securely fenced yard, as he is still sensitive to loud noises and sudden commotion. Riggs would do best with children over 10 who are calm and respectful, as he is not comfortable with the unpredictable nature of younger children. He thrives in a stable environment, appreciating a consistent indoor temperature of around 72 degrees, and would prefer to avoid loud holiday celebrations like the Fourth of July.

Ideal Home

Riggs would thrive in a calm, laid-back home with a resident dog buddy and a securely fenced yard. He needs a family that understands shy dogs benefit from structure, kindness, and patience. He would do best with older children (10+) who are respectful and not overly boisterous.
