Bear is a charming 6-year-old Yorkie mix with a resilient spirit and a heart full of love to give. He came to us needing significant medical care, but thanks to dedicated treatment, he's now ready for a fresh start. Bear underwent enucleation for both eyes due to damage from past infections. He's adjusting wonderfully to life with his new sight, exploring his surroundings with growing confidence and relying on his other keen senses. He's a smart boy who loves treats and is excelling with enrichment activities like snuffle mats, which let him use his amazing nose! Bear enjoys gentle attention and will happily relax by your side, soaking in soft pets and tilting his head as you talk to him.
Ideal Home
Bear would thrive in a patient and understanding home that can provide a safe and predictable environment. He needs an adopter who is willing to take things slow and introduce themselves gently, as sudden movements can startle him. He's doing well with our team, but may snap out of fear if grabbed unexpectedly. Talking to him and letting him know you're near will help him feel secure.
Ongoing Health
Bear is recovering from enucleation surgery for both eyes. He is on a weight management plan.
