About Pecos

Meet Pecos! This handsome, black Lab mix is approximately 2 years old and weighs over 50 pounds. Pecos arrived in Wisconsin on 6/5 after being rescued from a high-kill shelter in Texas. He's a happy, affectionate, energetic, and intelligent boy who is eager to find his forever home and embrace his second chance at life. Pecos is the quintessential Labrador Retriever – friendly, outgoing, loves people, and is always up for an adventure. He's already mastered many basics, including being fully potty trained, sleeping quietly in his crate, and walking nicely on a leash. He also enjoys car rides and would be a great companion for road trips, hikes, or just everyday errands. Pecos thrives on companionship and loves to be close to his people, often following them from room to room.

Ideal Home

Pecos would do best in a home where he can be close to his people. He gets along well with other dogs and loves to play, so he'd be a great match for a household with another dog who enjoys having a playmate. While he's been around cats and shows no aggression, he is very interested in them and may chase if given the opportunity. Due to his size, energy, and playful nature, he would be best suited for a family with older children who won't be overwhelmed by his enthusiasm.

Ongoing Health

Pecos is neutered and up to date on vaccinations, dewormer, and heartworm prevention.

Training & Support

Pecos is already doing a great job with potty training, crate training, and leash manners. He is a smart boy who learns quickly. With a loving family and time to settle in, he's sure to become an amazing, loyal companion.
