Bijou

Meet Bijou! This sweet Bichon mix is a survivor of a commercial breeding facility and is looking for a fresh start in a loving home. Bijou is currently a bit shy and shut down due to her past experiences, but she's slowly beginning to trust her caregivers. With patience and understanding, she's sure to blossom into a devoted and joyful companion. She has a particular fondness for other animals and would do best in a home with at least one canine sibling to show her the ropes. Adopting a puppy mill survivor is an incredibly rewarding experience, and Bijou is ready to start her new life with a family who can provide the gentle guidance and time she needs to adjust.

Ideal Home

A patient and understanding family who can provide a calm environment and let Bijou adjust at her own pace. She will thrive in a home with at least one other dog.

Ongoing Health

Bijou is a survivor of a puppy mill and is still adjusting to life outside of that environment.

Training & Support

Bijou will need adopters who are committed to positive reinforcement and creating a safe space for her to build trust. Everything will be new to her, from stairs and leashes to everyday household items. Patience, understanding, and a slow approach are key to her success.
