Otis

Meet Otis! This handsome fellow is a 2-year-old, 50-pound American Staffordshire Terrier mix who is neutered, fully vaccinated, and very ready for his happily-ever-after. Otis was adopted as a puppy and sadly returned to an overcrowded Houston shelter suffering from a severe skin condition. The good news? His foster has worked absolute magic, and he's now thriving with a shiny new coat he's extremely proud of and excited to show off. Otis is the definition of resilient and joyful. He's sweet, goofy, and loves people with his whole heart. If you stop petting him before he's ready, expect a gentle paw to grab your hand as a polite (but firm) reminder to keep going. He is very attentive to positive reinforcement and genuinely wants to make his people happy.

Ideal Home

Otis would do best in a moderately active home that also appreciates a good snuggle session. He would likely be a great fit for dog-savvy older children due to his size and enthusiasm.

Ongoing Health

Otis has made a full recovery from a severe skin condition and is now thriving with a shiny, healthy coat.

Training & Support

Otis is fully housebroken and potty trained. He is crate trained and sleeps in his crate overnight, settling well with a Kong. He has shown no signs of separation anxiety, destruction, food aggression, or resource guarding. He is fed separately to keep things calm and easy. He walks well on leash, though he may pull excitedly at the start.
