Mabel is a 2.5-year-old, 64-pound pit bull mix who is spayed and vaccinated. She was found abandoned and scared but has blossomed into a sweet, affectionate, and outgoing girl who adores people. Mabel's favorite activities include cuddling, giving kisses, going for car rides, and being the center of attention. She has shown exceptional gentleness and patience with children, particularly with their foster family's autistic son. Mabel enjoys playing with other medium to large dogs and is making good progress with her leash manners, though she can get excited when she sees other dogs on walks. She is comfortable being left unsupervised and prefers to sleep near her humans rather than in a crate. Mabel is ready to find her forever home filled with love, cuddles, and a family who appreciates her loyal, goofy, and big-hearted personality.
Ideal Home
Mabel would thrive in a home that is full of love and cuddles, with comfy places to relax. She would likely do well with a playful and tolerant dog companion or as the only pet. A home without cats would be best.
Ongoing Health
Mabel appreciates a little extra patience and support during vet visits and certain procedures to help her feel safe.
Training & Support
Mabel is still learning to understand when playtime is over with other dogs. She is making great progress with leash manners but may pull to greet other dogs on walks. She is not a fan of crates and prefers to sleep with her people.
