Meet Rumi!
Rumi is a beautiful 4-year-old, 40-pound girl with a heart full of love. Her favorite place is right by your side--whether she's curled up at your feet or snuggled next to you on the couch. She loves giving kisses and being close to her favorite people. Over the past year, Rumi has spent time at a professional training facility and has truly blossomed into a well-mannered, loving dog. She has become much calmer and more relaxed at home while still enjoying an active lifestyle. She would be a wonderful companion for someone who loves hiking, running, or long daily walks. Rumi walks beautifully on a leash without pulling. Although she's still building confidence in new environments, she continues to make steady progress every day with patience, treats, and positive reinforcement. She is fully house-trained and eager to learn. Rumi is ready to become a loyal, lifelong companion to a family who will continue helping her grow. If you're looking for a cuddly best friend who also loves outdoor adventures, Rumi could be the perfect match for you!
Ideal Home
We do not recommend leaving dogs alone for more than 4 hours. If you expect to be away longer, we strongly encourage doggy daycare or another appropriate care option. We typically do not adopt to homes with children under 8 years old.

Training & Support
Rumi walks beautifully on a leash without pulling. She is fully house-trained and eager to learn. She continues to make steady progress in building confidence in new environments with patience, treats, and positive reinforcement. She thrives with consistency, kindness, and routine. Many of our rescue dogs had very little socialization before entering our program. As a result, skills such as house training, leash walking, and adjusting to family life may take a little extra time. Patience, understanding, and gentle guidance are essential.

- Applications start by contacting us through Wags.
- Applicants must be at least 25 years old and live within a 45-minute driving distance of Springfield, Virginia (Northern Virginia and the Washington, DC suburbs only).
- A home check is required before adoption.
- Applicants must have a social media account so we can receive post-adoption updates. We monitor all adopted pets to ensure they continue to thrive.
- Once your application is approved, we will request a copy of your identification through a secure app and/or complete a background screening.
Transporation
Rumi is currently living in a foster home in Korea. Once she is adopted, she will be transported to the U.S. Because of this, we are unable to arrange in-person meet-and-greets. We are happy to provide detailed information, photos, and videos to help you get to know her.
