Davidson

Meet Davidson, a sweet and gentle 3-year-old, 53-pound Labrador mix lovingly known as Davie. He is learning that the world can be a safe place after arriving with us extremely underweight and bearing the emotional scars of past abuse. He will need a patient and understanding adopter to help him continue building confidence.

Davie is timid and easily startled, often shutting down rather than reacting when scared. He has shown no signs of aggression, only fear. He responds best to calm guidance and positive reinforcement. He can be nervous around men but is making progress with his foster dad, accepting pets and slowly working on going outside on leash. He's even started wagging his tail and doing tiny gallops when he feels brave! Davie has shown friendly interest in the foster puppies in his home, happily sniffing noses through their pen and wagging his tail. He is crate trained and doing well without accidents.

Ideal Home

Davie will likely need a very secure environment. His adopter will need to be diligent with leashing, gates, and other safety precautions.

Ongoing Health

Davie arrived underweight and has been recovering.

Training & Support

Davie is crate trained and house-trained. He responds best to calm guidance and positive reinforcement. He is timid and easily startled and may need continued support building confidence, especially around men.

Davidson is located in Houston, TX, but can be transported to most states for an additional fee of $300.
