About Oscar Mayer

Whos tiny, white, curly, and extra fluffy? Well, that's Oscar for you! Oscar is a great boy who is learning the ways of the world. We estimate him to be about 3 years old. His tiny size, weighing about 15 pounds, comes from his Maltese Chihuahua roots, if we're going off of his good looks. Breed is never guaranteed in rescue, so this is just a guess! Regardless of breed, these dogs are one of a kind, and Oscar is especially so!

Oscar is currently in a loving foster home where he is fostered with other small dogs, seven of them to be exact! He is having a great time learning all about toys, treats, and all things good. It's been a pleasure to see him blossom into a playful little guy. One of his foster siblings is 19 years old, and Oscar makes sure he is gentle with her, never bothering her and taking corrections well. He and his siblings often play musical bowls, sharing their food at each mealtime with no issues; they just move from one to the other. Sharing is caring! Oscar is the type of guy that likes to take things slow and doesn't move too fast on the first date. Earning his loyalty and trust is something that makes you feel so special, and if he loves you, he falls hard and is a loyal little guy! His foster says that Oscar is trusted to free roam in the house and that he sleeps in bed with her at night. What a little cuddle bug! Oscar often finds himself on anything soft like the couch or his cozy dog bed on the floor. He doesn't mind snuggling up with his new siblings and is always sitting on the porch with them enjoying the evening sounds. He will be your perfect morning coffee buddy, watching you make breakfast in the kitchen, or enjoying the nice sunrise or sunset with you. Oscar isn't picky, but you can tell that he is so thankful to be saved.

Ideal Home

Oscar would be best in a home with a yard, as he loves being outside so much. We believe older kids would be best for this guy because of his timidness; he prefers to take things slow and would love a life with routine and calmness. Gentleness is the best thing about Oscar, and he just craves peacefulness. Older kiddos that can understand and respect his boundaries would be best! We have not seen him with kitties either, but we do believe that Oscar would be all right with a cat due to his size. Eventually, he may want to play, so we're not recommending a home with just one kitty, but kitties and dogs alike would be fine. If you would like us to cat test him, please just say the word, and we would be happy to help!
