Pumpkin Lumpkin sounds like a dream come true! This lovely two-year-old Redbone Coonhound mix is a real sweetheart with a personality as soft as melted marshmallow. Her most striking feature is her incredibly long, dramatic ears that have a personality all their own – they bounce when she walks and gracefully puddle when she settles down for a nap. Pumpkin's favorite pastime is being comfortable, whether that's on a plush couch, a cozy dog bed, or even your lap if you'll have her. She's the epitome of low-maintenance, a calm and sweet companion who walks beautifully on a leash and is perfectly content with gentle strolls and quiet moments near her people. She greets everyone with enthusiasm, melting into affection once she feels comfortable. Pumpkin is also a wonderfully polite dog when it comes to her canine friends, happy to coexist peacefully and not at all interested in roughhousing. She's done well with smaller dogs in her foster home and could be a great companion for another calm, respectful dog or a cherished solo pup. She's even shown potential with cat-savvy felines who understand personal space. While she hasn't been kid-tested yet, her gentle and tolerant nature suggests she could be a wonderful family dog, and we're happy to arrange a kid test if you're interested. Pumpkin could potentially do well in an apartment, but with her occasional hound-like vocalizations, a home with a yard or a more hound-friendly setup might be ideal. She's currently on a wellness journey, embracing a love for snacks, which means she can get tired easily, but she still enjoys her explorations. Think of her as a relaxed, happy presence, embodying "retired auntie energy" in the best possible way.

Pumpkin is located in Texas. We facilitate nationwide adoptions using our USDA-certified transport system, with drop-off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI and Canada. Pickup options for Canadian adopters are in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT. A $87 surcharge applies due to rising transportation costs. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
