Michelle is a charming 3-year-old spayed female Staffordshire Terrier mix, weighing around 48 pounds. She was rescued from a high-kill shelter and is now thriving in a foster home in Houston, Texas, eagerly awaiting her forever family. Michelle is incredibly friendly, affectionate, and social, with a particular fondness for other dogs. She loves to play and nap with her foster siblings, and while she can be enthusiastic, she’s great at reading their cues and adjusting her play style. Outside, she has plenty of energy for running, but indoors, she settles beautifully, enjoying lounging and snoozing, making her a happy and mellow house companion.
Ideal Home
Michelle has met children ages 8 and up and was very sweet and loving. However, due to her tendency to jump when excited, a home with children 12+ or dog-savvy younger teens who can manage her enthusiasm would be ideal. She would also thrive in a home with another friendly dog and a family that can provide love, structure, and playtime. She would do well in an apartment or urban setting as long as she receives consistent exercise and enrichment. A secure yard or diligent leash walks are a must as she is an escape artist who can scale fences.

Michelle is fully housebroken and crate trained, and she even chooses to spend time in her crate during the day. She is very food-motivated and a quick learner. She is fed separately to prevent this and does best with guidance during snack times, responding well to redirection. She walks fairly well on leash but tends to pull; continued leash training and structure will help her improve. She loves to chew, especially on outdoor items, so supervision and crate time when unsupervised are important.
