Rye is a 2-year-old, 56 lb bundle of sunshine and snuggles! This happy-go-lucky Labrador Retriever mix (with a hint of mystery!) is sure to bring a smile to your face with his goofy antics and affectionate nature. Rye greets everyone like a long-lost best friend, always ready for an adventure or a good cuddle. He's eager to please and shows a strong desire to be close to his people, whether that's lounging at your feet or leaning in for a sweet kiss.

Ideal Home

Rye would thrive in a home that enjoys playtime, walks, and a bit of structure. While he could adapt to apartment living with sufficient exercise and enrichment, a house with a yard would be his dream come true.

Ongoing Health

Rye is a healthy boy. His adoption fee includes all vetting, including vaccinations, deworming, flea and heartworm prevention, and a microchip.

Training & Support

Rye can be a little jumpy when excited, but he's quickly learning that sitting earns him praise. He also needs some polishing on his leash skills, as he can be a bit energetic on walks. However, he listens well to corrections and is highly motivated by treats, making training a rewarding experience. He's also been noted as cat-tolerant with a slow introduction and is gentle with children, though he may need guidance to manage his excitement around younger ones.

We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our USDA-certified transport system, with drop-off locations in various states including WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI and Canada. Canadian adopters can pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT. Transport includes real-time tracking and photo updates. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
