Rhett

Rhett is a 4.5-month-old, 19-pound Heeler/Chihuahua mix with a sweet heart and a gentle soul. He and his brother, Remmie, were born in a yard in South Texas after their mom found herself in a difficult situation. Thankfully, kind people stepped in to keep the family safe and ensure everyone received the care they needed before making the journey to North Carolina. Their wonderful mom has found a forever home of her own. Rhett is still learning that the world is a safe and exciting place. While he can be a little timid when meeting new people or experiencing new situations, his curiosity often wins out. Once he realizes he's safe, you'll start to see the playful, intelligent puppy hiding underneath. Like many herding breed mixes, Rhett is smart, observant, and eager to learn. He'll thrive with patient adopters who understand that confidence grows through encouragement, consistency, and positive experiences. The best part about puppies like Rhett is getting to watch them blossom. Every new experience, every little victory, and every bit of trust earned helps reveal more of the wonderful dog he's becoming. Rhett doesn't need perfection. He just needs someone willing to give him the time and love he deserves.
