Meet Gravy, your future best friend with the happiest heart and the sweetest face to match!
Gravy is a seven-month-old puppy bursting with love, joy, and puppy energy. She adores everyone she meets, whether they have two legs or four. She absolutely loves other dogs and is happiest when she has a playmate to wrestle with, play tug-of-war, or simply curl up beside for a nap. One of her sweetest habits is falling asleep touching another dog with a paw or her back, just so she knows they're close.
She's also wonderful with children and has been living with a four-year-old. Like many puppies, Gravy gets excited when greeting people and may jump up to say hello, but it's all out of pure happiness and love. She truly believes everyone she meets is her new best friend.
Gravy loves spending time with her family, whether that means playing outside, snuggling on the couch, or accepting treats with her signature happy grin. Like any puppy, she's still learning the rules of the house, especially which toys belong to her and which belong to her humans. She's smart, eager to please and learning quickly.
Ideal Home
Gravy would love a home with another playful dog, but more than anything, she wants a family who will include her in their everyday adventures. She isn't a fan of being crated when her people leave the house and can become mischievous if left with tempting items like shoes.
Ongoing Health
Gravy has congenital heart defects that affect how blood flows through her heart. While she feels fantastic today and doesn't let her heart slow her down, these defects are serious and will likely result in a shorter lifespan than a typical dog. Every dog is different, so it's impossible to predict exactly how much time she'll have or how her condition will progress. Gravy is under the exceptional care of the cardiology team at NC State, and she'll need a family committed to continuing her specialized care, including routine monitoring and follow-up appointments.
Training & Support
Gravy is still learning the rules of the house, especially which toys belong to her and which belong to her humans. She's smart, eager to please and learning quickly. She'll do best with a family willing to continue helping her build confidence and good habits.
