Meet Dean Winchester! This adorable 3.5-month-old Mini Poodle puppy weighs 8 pounds and sports stunning merle markings. Dean was born with approximately 50% vision loss and 50% hearing loss due to breeding practices that prioritized coat color over health. Despite these challenges, Dean is a happy, loving little guy who embraces life with enthusiasm and plenty of affection to share.
Dean is already making great progress in his foster home, learning the ropes of being a cherished family pet. He's doing wonderfully with potty training and is quick to do his business outdoors. At night, he sleeps soundly in his puppy pen with his brother, Sam Winchester. Like many puppies, Dean is teething and enjoys chewing, so he'll need a good supply of safe chew toys to keep him happily occupied. He enjoys the company of both people and other dogs and has been living successfully with canine companions of various ages and sizes. Dean gains confidence from having another dog around, so he would truly thrive in a home with a friendly, confident pup who can be both a playmate and a guide.
Ideal Home
Dean needs a patient and understanding family committed to helping him navigate the world safely. While experience with hearing- or vision-impaired dogs is a bonus, it's not required for adopters willing to learn. A physically fenced yard is essential. A home with another confident dog of similar size and energy level is strongly preferred.
Ongoing Health
Dean has approximately 50% vision loss and 50% hearing loss due to his genetics.
