Meet Murphy!

Murphy is a goofy, affectionate, and playful two-year-old Labrador Retriever mix who weighs 70 pounds. He has floppy ears and a golden coat that matches his big heart! Murphy greets life with happy tail wags and often makes little playful noises that make it seem like he's trying to communicate. He loves long walks, car rides, chew toys, and zoomies in the yard. Murphy is a smart pup who responds well to clicker training and is eager to learn with positive reinforcement. He already knows sit and lay down, and is making progress on stay and recall.

Ideal Home

Murphy would do best in a home with a confident canine pal to help him feel secure. He also thrives on a steady routine and enjoys settling down for snuggles after a day of play. A home without children is recommended.

Ongoing Health

Murphy has some anxiety, especially in unfamiliar or chaotic environments, and has shown fear-based behaviors when feeling trapped. He has had three incidents where he nipped or bit, stemming from fear. To help with skin sensitivities, chicken has been removed from his diet as a precaution, and he receives regular soothing baths.

Training & Support

Murphy can be a little nervous around some men, though he has made great progress with consistent training, patience, and love. He will thrive with a calm, experienced pet parent who understands anxiety and reactivity and can continue supporting his confidence. Slow introductions to new people and surroundings, along with consistency and gentle guidance, will help him blossom.
