Chase

Meet Chase, an adorably anxious and uncertain little guy looking for a patient and understanding home. This Jack Russell mix puppy is just over a year old and came to us after being found out on his own. Chase is everything you'd expect from his breed: energetic, smart, curious, and always ready for action. He enjoys walks, chew toys, squeaky toys, food, and playtime. He would really enjoy training classes to continue working on manners and to provide important mental stimulation.

Ideal Home

Chase needs a home without children where the environment is highly predictable. He is uncomfortable with his feet being touched and being leaned over. He also resource guards comfy places, his people, or food, especially as he gets to know you. This can manifest as lunging and growling if he perceives his resource is in danger.

Training & Support

Chase is currently working on his resource guarding behaviors in his foster home. He will need a patient adopter willing to set boundaries while showing him the world is a safe place. He already knows sit, shake, and down. He seems familiar with potty pads and is doing well with potty training. He sleeps nicely in a kennel at night and enjoys the company of other dogs. He's still learning his play manners but holds his own even with bigger dogs. He may try to chase squirrels during walks.
