Meet our intelligent and loving husky girl, Lucy Van Pelt! Lucy is a 4-year-old, 45 lb bundle of personality with a heart of gold. Her foster family describes her as the smartest husky they've ever fostered, and her piercing blue eyes hint at her intelligence. While she might look like she's judging, she's actually a devoted love bug who is deeply committed to her pack. She's a quick learner and incredibly treat-motivated, showing remarkable progress in obedience training. Lucy is also house-trained, microchipped, spayed, and fully vaccinated, making her ready to join your family.
Lucy's journey has been a bit ruff; she was surrendered to a municipal shelter due to a skin condition and was unfortunately on the euthanasia list. Thankfully, we were able to pull her and a wonderful foster family stepped in to give her a second chance. Her skin and scabs are healing beautifully thanks to a healthy diet and she's thriving. She enjoys fresh snacks like apples, cucumbers, and broccoli stems.
Ideal Home
Lucy thrives on a structured routine that includes two 45-minute walks a day and a 30-minute exercise session. She's great at pacing herself and is happy to relax on her bed or watch the squirrels from the deck during quiet hours. She loves chew toys and frozen treats for afternoon entertainment. Lucy is great with other dogs and has made initial introductions with cats, making her a wonderful fit for a multi-pet household. She would do best in a home where someone works from home or with other dogs to keep her company during the day.
Ongoing Health
Lucy's skin condition is healing perfectly. She is on a healthy diet and is thriving.
