Meet Rio! This handsome pup looks like a delicious Oreo cookie, and he's just as sweet! Rio is a young, active dog who is eager to please and loves to learn. He's already mastered his name, sit, come, down, "rest for cooperative care," and a hand target. He's also a big fan of fetch and tug-of-war! Rio's foster mom says he's a super fast learner and will do just about anything for a tasty treat.
Rio does have a few things to work on, but with the right guidance and patience, he's sure to become an amazing companion. He's still learning about sharing his toys and can be a bit of a "booger" with other dogs. He needs a canine friend who is chill, not easily annoyed, and can gently correct his enthusiastic play style. He would do best with a sturdy dog of his own size or larger, who enjoys a more "rugby" style of play than "hockey." Rio also gets the zoomies when excited and is working on enjoying car rides without being restrained. He is not a fan of cats and they are definitely not approved toys!
Ideal Home
Rio would do well as an only dog or with a sturdy, tolerant canine sibling who can help him refine his social skills. He needs an active home that enjoys entertaining antics and is prepared to provide extra guidance as he continues to learn.
Ongoing Health
Rio is a healthy young pup. Bath time and nail trims are no problem for him.
Training & Support
Rio is crate trained and working on his table manners and sharing his toys. He's also learning to be more comfortable with restraints during car rides. His foster mom is a professional trainer and is happy to offer guidance to help Rio continue on his journey to becoming a well-behaved boy.
