Lazarus "Lazzie"

Meet Lazarus, also known as Lazzie, Russie, or Laz! This handsome 3-4 year old, 50 lb. black Lab mix is a volunteer favorite. Lazzie is a calm, gentle, and quiet boy with a gorgeous, shiny coat. He loves lounging and cuddling with his canine and human companions. He gets along well with dogs of all sizes and currently shares his home with a chihuahua and a 70 lb. pit bull. Lazzie even enjoyed socializing at an adoption event at a local bar, confidently making new friends and being very sweet with every stranger he met. He came to the rescue in rough shape, suffering from mange and a respiratory infection after being found alone and uncared for in the Texas elements. Thankfully, he's now healthy, strong, and strikingly handsome!

Ideal Home

Lazzie enjoys lounging and cuddling and gets along well with dogs of all sizes. He's likely good with cats and children, though this has not been explicitly tested.

Ongoing Health

Lazzie is fully vaccinated and neutered. He was treated for mange and an upper respiratory infection.

Training & Support

Lazzie is kennel trained and potty trained. He is eligible for 50% off training with Curbed Behaviors Dog Training for programs booked within 30 days of adoption, and 25% off programs booked within 60-90 days of adoption.

Transportation

Lazzie is located in Houston, TX. Transport is included in the adoption fee and services operate weekly to Eastern states and bi-weekly or monthly to Western states from Texas to your state or a neighboring state. These are ground transports using third-party vehicles, and adopters can track the van using the Life360 app and receive updates.
