Kalua

Kalua is a 5-year-old female Great Pyrenees with a personality as sweet as her name! She was originally brought home as a Livestock Guardian Dog but quickly showed her true colors – she'd rather play with sheep than guard them! Kalua is a bundle of endless energy and prefers to be inside, enjoying the comforts of a home. She was loved and well-cared for by her previous owner.

Ideal Home

Kalua would thrive in a home without other dogs or cats. Her past experiences have made her wary of other dogs her size or larger, and she prefers to be the only furry friend in the household. She also needs a securely fenced yard to safely explore her energetic side.

Ongoing Health

Kalua is up-to-date on vaccinations and is spayed. She has had a past negative experience with grooming, so her new family will need to be patient and understanding during grooming sessions.

Training & Support

Kalua needs some fine-tuning with her leash skills. Due to her past experiences, she can be a bit unsure around other dogs, a trait we believe stems from her smaller stature leading to "little dog syndrome." Patience and positive reinforcement will be key to helping her build confidence.
