About Loki

Loki is a playful and adventurous 6.5-month-old male Retriever/Pit Bull mix, weighing around 40 pounds. He's estimated to be a large dog when fully grown, much like his mom, Wanda, who weighs about 55 pounds. Loki was rescued from the streets with his litter and is now thriving in a foster home. He's known for being the "fearless ringleader," always the first to explore and announce his presence with gusto. Loki is a natural climber and loves a good game of keep-away with his toys. He’s also potty trained, though a few accidents might happen as he adjusts to a new home. While brave, he can be a little hesitant with new things initially, but his curiosity quickly takes over. Loki adores food and will always find his way to the front of the line for treats. Despite his energetic antics, he's also a snuggly companion who loves to cuddle after a day of play. He enjoys the company of people and other dogs and has shown he's great with children. He has some crate experience and is working on his leash skills and basic obedience, eager to learn.

Ideal Home

Loki would thrive in a home that can provide ongoing positive reinforcement, consistency, and continued leash practice to help him mature into an exceptional adult dog. We prefer homes with another friendly, well-mannered dog to help mentor him, but we are open to homes without another dog if you have a solid plan for continued socialization. Due to his age, we also prefer homes where someone isn't routinely away for more than four to six hours at a time.

Ongoing Health

Loki is a healthy young dog.

Training & Support

Loki is potty trained but may have occasional accidents as he adjusts to a new routine. He is continuing to practice his leash skills and basic obedience and is eager to learn. Consistent positive reinforcement, socialization, and continued training will be key to his development.
