Princess is a spirited and loving companion looking for her forever home! This approximately four-year-old, spayed female terrier pittie mix has a DOB of 11-14-2021. She was returned to a shelter for being too energetic, but her foster family discovered she's a happy, loving dog who has settled down wonderfully with love and safety. She adores car rides, squeaky toys, and is eager to be with her people. Princess is a bright girl who knows her commands but gets a bit too excited for attention. With a gentle correction and a command like "sit," she'll happily comply to receive pets. She's an avid chewer, so she'll need plenty of appropriate chew toys, just like a puppy! Princess does bark for attention, including when she needs to go potty or wants some love.
Ideal Home
Princess would thrive in an active home with older children, an active couple, or an active single person. She needs a secure, fenced yard and is not suitable for apartment living. While she can be the only pet, she would also do well with a canine companion who can match her energy and enthusiasm for play. Her exuberance may be too much for small animals.
Ongoing Health
Princess is up-to-date on all her shots, is heartworm negative, and is on monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention.
Training & Support
Princess is crate trained and house-trained. She knows commands such as sit, come, stay, off, and heel for leash walking. She understands the importance of sitting for attention and takes treats nicely. She will need continued positive reinforcement to manage her excitement and jumping. Providing plenty of engaging chew toys is key to redirecting her chewing.
