Milky Way is a very well-mannered, lovable, and handsome little guy! He is house trained, crate trained, and leash trained, and he absolutely adores people. He's been in foster care since November 2025 and has adapted wonderfully to home life, truly thriving in a loving environment. He's a true cuddle bug and a people person, making him a great companion for just about anyone.
Milky Way is equally content napping the day away as he is embarking on an adventure. He travels exceptionally well in the car and has joined his foster family on many long rides and excursions to new places. Most of the time, he snoozes peacefully at home while his family is out for the day, doing well whether crated or left to roam. He has shown compatibility with some smaller, submissive dogs and can be introduced on a meet-and-greet basis. He has also been around children aged 4-10 and has done well with respectful youngsters.
He's such an adaptable dog and has even come pre-loaded with some cool tricks! While he spends most of his time resting, he loves being wherever his favorite people are. He'll be sure to bring all of his favorite toys, acquired during his foster stay, to help him adjust to his new home. His foster parent is happy to arrange meet-and-greets for anyone interested in him or their pets.
Milky Way recently made a couple of trips out of the shelter. At the Marigold Market, he was initially a bit uneasy with the bustling crowds, dogs, and activity, but he soon settled in and had a fantastic time meeting new friends, including another shelter dog named Boomer. The following day at the UGA Rescue Paws Fall Festival, he was more relaxed and had another good showing. He's a really nice dog and companion!
He enjoys a good run with his canine neighbors and is friendly to other dogs he meets. Milky Way is a treat enthusiast and knows how to sit for them. He also loves to receive pets between socializing. He's a good boy who never meets a stranger!
Ideal Home
Milky Way would do well in a home with respectful children and has shown potential to get along with smaller, submissive dogs.

Milky Way is house trained, crate trained, and leash trained. He knows how to sit for treats and enjoys learning new tricks. He is a very adaptable dog and will be sent home with his favorite toys to help him settle in.
