Kim is a 1-year-old female Border Collie/Labrador mix who is as active and playful as she is sweet and loving. She's a joyful girl who can be a little timid at first and needs time to decompress and trust new people. Kim is very smart and would be a perfect companion for someone looking to train and bond with their dog. She's always happy and ready for adventures, enjoys playing with other dogs, and is also cat-friendly. Kim is leash-trained, crate-trained, and good on car rides. She was abandoned at the rescue but has since recovered from parvo after a hospitalization.
Ideal Home
Kim would thrive in an active home with families who enjoy outdoor activities and have a fenced backyard. Patience and understanding are a must, as she may have a period of adjustment. She is not house-trained.
Ongoing Health
Kim is spayed/neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations including DHPPI, Rabies, and Bordetella. She has been dewormed, microchipped, and tested negative for heartworm. She also receives monthly Nexgard Spectra for flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. She has a clean bill of health with a certificate and vaccine booklet.
Training & Support
Kim is not house-trained and will require ongoing patience and consistency with potty training. Her previous experiences may have led to a need for some emotional rehabilitation, so an adopter with experience in dog behavior and training, and a high tolerance for rescued animals, would be ideal.
