Meet Michelle! This charming 3-year-old spayed female Staffordshire Terrier mix, weighing around 48 pounds, is a bundle of affection and playful energy looking for her forever family. Rescued from a high-kill shelter, Michelle is embracing her second chance with enthusiasm and a wagging tail. She's a social butterfly, especially with other dogs, and loves to play and nap with her foster siblings. While she can get a bit overzealous in play due to her size, she's never aggressive and quickly learns to adjust her behavior. Michelle settles down beautifully indoors, making her a happy and mellow companion after a good play session.
Ideal Home
Michelle has met children ages 8 and up and was very sweet, but she does tend to jump when excited. We recommend a home with children 12+ or dog-savvy younger teens who can manage her enthusiastic greetings. A home with another friendly dog would be wonderful, and a family that can provide love, structure, and playtime will help her thrive.
Ongoing Health
Michelle is a healthy girl who has been spayed and is up-to-date on vaccinations.
Training & Support
Michelle is fully housebroken and crate trained, even choosing to rest in her crate during the day. She's a quick learner and is very food motivated. However, she can be a bit of a sneak with food, so she's fed separately to prevent any treat theft. With redirection, she's learning well. She walks fairly well on leash but does pull, and continued leash training will help her improve. Michelle also loves to chew, especially on outdoor items, so supervision and crate time when unsupervised are important. She's also an escape artist and can scale fences, so a secure yard or consistent leash walks are a must. She would do well in an apartment or urban setting provided she gets enough exercise and enrichment.
