Shiva is a 4-year-old, 65 lb Greyhound/Golden Retriever mix with a truly special soul. She embodies a beautiful duality, capable of both immense affection and profound peace. Shiva is deeply intelligent and incredibly attuned to her human companions, often seeming to anticipate their needs. She thrives on structure and purpose, and is fully house-trained and crate-trained. She knows commands like "place," "heel," "come," "out," "on/off," and understands routine and rhythm, following directions with impressive precision.
Shiva is gentle with respectful children and loves having a "job" to do. She enjoys working and settling beside her people, and with clear expectations, she is a grounded and steady companion. While she may occasionally test a boundary, it's more for understanding the rules than defiance. Consistent reinforcement helps her find her balance again. Her reactivity has improved significantly and is now manageable and redirectable. She can pass many dogs without issue, and while she is curious about other dogs, she is still learning social cues, making her best suited as an only pet or with a calm, confident canine friend. She is curious but manageable around cats and small animals. Shiva has a moderate energy level, enjoying bursts of play followed by long periods of calm. Two structured walks and mental stimulation keep her content.

Shiva is up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, and on flea and heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee covers age-appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, and heartworm testing and treatment by the rescue's vet.
