Chester

Chester is the sweetest boy you'll ever meet! He waited 200 days at the shelter for his forever home, and through it all, he remained calm, sweet, and resilient. Chester is loyal, kind, and always ready for a belly rub – it's hard not to melt when he rolls over for a good scratch! He's a 75-pound Boxer mix, about 1.5 years old, and he's great with other dogs. He's friendly to guests and children, and doesn't bark much. Chester is also crate trained, potty trained, and knows "sit" and "stay." He loves his tennis ball and can entertain himself for 30 minutes, figuring out how to make it pop up for a game of chase. He enjoys walks but isn't a fan of the rain. Chester is a curious companion who loves to follow his foster around the house. He's not food aggressive and is happy to let you near his bowl while he's eating. Chester is looking for a loving companion to share his whole heart with.

Ideal Home

Chester would love a home that can offer him plenty of love and companionship. He is not cat-friendly.

Ongoing Health

Chester was heartworm positive and underwent treatment in mid-May. He is recovering well and will need to refrain from heavy exercise for a few more weeks, which he doesn't seem to mind due to his relaxed nature.

Training & Support

Chester is crate trained and potty trained. He knows "sit" and "stay." He will roll over for a belly rub, though it's not on command!
