Meet Nigel!
Nigel is a charming 6-month-old, 10-pound Shih Tzu with a heart as big as his fluffy personality. This sweet and happy little gentleman was surrendered when his owner was no longer able to care for him, and now he's ready to find a family that will cherish him for the rest of his life. Nigel is a social butterfly who genuinely enjoys being around his people. Whether he's following you from room to room, snuggling on the couch, or heading out for a leisurely neighborhood stroll, he's happiest when he's included in the fun. He has previously lived with children, does well with other dogs, and recently met a cat without showing any concern, making him a wonderful candidate for many different family dynamics.
Ideal Home
Nigel would love an active family that will include him in their daily adventures. As a Shih Tzu, Nigel will require regular professional grooming to keep his handsome coat looking and feeling its best.
Ongoing Health
- Current on Bordetella, Distemper, and Rabies
- Dewormed
- Heartworm Tested: Negative
- Receiving Heartworm and Flea Prevention
- Microchipped
- Scheduled for neuter surgery at our partner Veterinary office.
Training & Support
Like any young puppy, Nigel is still learning the ropes. He is crate trained and has demonstrated a good understanding of house manners, although he did have a few accidents while settling into his foster home. With patience, consistency, and a predictable routine, he continues to make great progress. Nigel can become motion sick on longer car rides. Thankfully, a dose of Dramamine before extended trips helps keep him comfortable so he can enjoy the journey too.

Nigel is located in Oakland Township, MI. We are not currently adopting outside of the state of MI.
