Smore may be tiny — just 9 weeks old and 5 pounds — but this little Havanese/Bichon mix carries a spirit bigger than her diagnosis. Born with a congenital heart condition called subaortic stenosis (SAS), Smore’s life will likely be shorter than most. There’s no cure, but a daily medication helps her heart work more comfortably. But here’s the part that will take your breath away: Smore doesn’t know she’s sick or that her time may be limited. This energetic little girl runs with the other dogs in her foster home, chases toys twice her size, and proudly “helps” by untying shoelaces whenever she gets the chance. She’s goofy, bright, and full of that irresistible puppy sparkle. Smore isn’t looking for pity. She’s looking for someone who will love her the way she loves the world — fully, joyfully, and without hesitation.
