Spicy is an approximately 8-year-old Chihuahua with a personality as vibrant as his name! Rescued from a hoarding situation, he's now searching for a special home that will embrace his unique quirks and shower him with love. Spicy is a confident little fellow who truly believes he's the biggest dog in the house, and he gets along well with cats and other dogs who respect his space. He has a special appreciation for men and can take some time to warm up to women, requiring patience and consistent, gentle guidance.
Ideal Home
Spicy would thrive in a quiet, adult-only home where his unique personality can be understood and appreciated. He prefers a calm and submissive canine companion who understands boundaries. A home without small children is preferred.
Ongoing Health
Spicy is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and up-to-date on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. He is also heartworm tested.
Training & Support
Spicy is housetrained but may mark indoors if left unsupervised, so he will need a patient owner who can help manage this. He responds well to treats and understands directions. He sleeps soundly in his kennel overnight, which he views as his safe space. Spicy prefers firm, confident touch over gentle petting, as gentler touches can overstimulate him. He will clearly signal when he wants to be picked up by jumping on your leg, and he'll let you know vocally when he's had enough affection.
