Meet Malouk, a distinguished 12-year-old, 85 lb German Shepherd with a heart full of love and a soul full of gentle companionship. He arrived with a heavy story, having been surrendered after his person passed away. For a year, he didn't receive the care he deserved, but now, this sweet senior is ready for a safe, loving, and cherished home.

Malouk is blind, but his spirit shines brightly. He navigates his world with remarkable resilience and finds joy in simple pleasures like walks, naps, and, of course, plenty of treats! Sometimes, a playful spark ignites, reminding us of his zest for life.

Ideal Home

Malouk would thrive in a calm, low-key environment where he can feel secure and settled. He would be perfectly happy as the sole pet, but he also gets along well with calm, respectful dogs and cats who understand he can be startled due to his blindness. He is incredibly friendly with people and has a special fondness for children, making him a wonderful, gentle presence for the right family.

Ongoing Health

Due to his blindness, Malouk can experience some anxiety, which is well managed with calming medication and a consistent routine. He finds comfort in his crate and does best when crated while unattended.

Training & Support

Malouk is potty trained, though he may mark indoors (he was recently neutered, and belly bands have been an effective solution). He will also benefit from continued leash training, as he can pull, especially when excited or uncertain.
