Lou Loomie is a delightful approximately 5-month-old, 30lb Lab/Aussie mix with a heart as big as his adorably oversized ears! He's a rescue pup, so while we can't guarantee breed or age, we can guarantee he's a joy to be around. Lou is wonderfully balanced; he's happy to join you for a walk or outdoor adventures, but also content to relax at home. His favorite activity is soaking up affection, and he’ll lean right into your touch. He's also a social butterfly who enjoys the company of other dogs and would do best with confident, established adult dogs who can show him the ropes.
Ideal Home
Lou would thrive in a home with experienced dog owners who understand the importance of consistency and boundaries. He would also love a backyard for exploring and stretching his legs. A semi-active family that enjoys both outdoor activities and quiet evenings at home would be a perfect match.
Ongoing Health
Lou is up-to-date on all his vetting, which includes DAPP vaccination with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad-spectrum deworming treatments, flea prevention, and a 12-month heartworm preventative injection. He has also been tested for heartworm.
Training & Support
Lou is doing very well with potty training, achieving about 85% success. He benefits from frequent potty breaks and a consistent schedule. He is highly motivated by treats, making him an eager and quick learner for positive reinforcement training. Lou is also crate trained. While he may protest for a few minutes initially when left alone, he settles down nicely. Continuing his crate training will help him thrive with structure and routine.

Lou is located in Texas. We facilitate nationwide adoptions using our USDA-certified transport system. Drop-off locations include WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, and Canada. You can track his journey in real-time and receive photo updates. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
