Eddie is a gentle, sweet, and sensitive young Labrador mix, approximately 1.5 years old and weighing around 37 lbs. He was found near his home along with his sister and was rescued to prevent him from returning to life on the streets. Eddie is a bit shy, especially with physical contact, and may keep his distance initially. However, with patience and kindness, he opens up and enjoys going for walks and is well-behaved on a leash. Once he feels safe, he's playful, obedient, affectionate, and may offer sweet kisses. He's also sociable and gets along well with other dogs, children, men, and women. Eddie is sensitive to loud noises like fireworks and thunder, so a calm environment is ideal.
Ideal Home
Eddie would thrive in a home with a fenced backyard and an active family that enjoys outdoor activities. He needs a family with a genuine intention to rescue and understand the needs of street animals, including their need for protection and education. Prior experience with dog behavior and training, or a willingness to hire a trainer, is highly recommended. A high tolerance and patience for rescued puppies are essential. He is not house-trained.
Ongoing Health
Eddie has received a comprehensive health protocol including spay/neuter certificate, DHPPI and Rabies vaccines, Bordetella vaccine, deworming, microchip, 4DX test and certificate, negative heartworm test certificate, and monthly Nexgard Spectra preventive protection. He also has a health certificate and vaccine booklet.
Training & Support
Eddie is not house-trained. It's important to understand that rescued dogs may have experienced trauma and require an adjustment period. Patience, understanding, and providing a safe, loving environment with a consistent routine and clear boundaries are crucial for him to build trust and become a loyal companion.
