Meet Gracie Mae!

Gracie Mae is a delightful five-year-old Treeing Walker Coonhound mix with a gentle spirit and a warm, white and golden coat. She's about 40 pounds and embodies the curiosity and musical nature of her hound heritage. Gracie Mae thrives on structure and routine, which helps her feel confident and relaxed. She adores her stuffy toys and sturdy Benebones, and a game of fetch can quickly reveal her playful side! When it's time to wind down, Gracie Mae is a champion cuddler, often snuggling close as if sharing a secret.

She has a history of living in a busy household with children, including a neurodivergent child, and she has navigated this with patience and calm. Gracie Mae is comfortable around kids and enjoys being part of the lively rhythm of family life. Her friendly and steady nature allows her to adjust well to the everyday sounds and energy of a bustling home.

Gracie Mae has lived successfully with another dog and is generally comfortable around people. Her experience with cats is limited, and her hound instincts might lead her to chase small animals on walks, so thoughtful introductions and attentive guidance will be key. She knows commands like "sit" and responds well to patient guidance and positive reinforcement. Gracie Mae is crate-trained and can rest calmly during the workday, though she truly shines when she can share the day with her people.

Gracie Mae has learned to go potty outside and understands the "go potty" command, but she is also accustomed to using pee pads indoors. Outdoor sounds and distractions can sometimes make her feel uncertain, and she doesn't currently signal when she needs to go outside. Because of this, she often prefers using pee pads where she feels more relaxed in a familiar indoor space. With patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement training, routines like this can continue to improve over time.

She sometimes feels unsure about delivery drivers or unfamiliar visitors and benefits from gentle introductions. Gracie Mae would thrive in a caring environment where someone is home much of the time to keep her engaged with play, walks, and connection. When her caregiver travels, Gracie Mae stays at a boarding facility where she's a favorite among the staff, demonstrating her friendly nature and easygoing personality in new environments.

Her vaccinations are up to date, she is spayed, and microchipped. Gracie Mae offers joyful companionship, expressive hound charm, and plenty of cuddles.
