Bear

Bear is a 10-month-old, 53-pound bundle of joy and energy! This handsome Labrador Retriever mix is incredibly sweet, friendly, and loves everyone. He gets along wonderfully with dogs, cats, and children, and truly thrives on companionship. Bear has a playful spirit and loves to run and explore, so he's looking for an active family to match his enthusiasm.

Ideal Home

Bear would do best in an active home that can provide him with plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. A home with another playful dog is highly preferred, or a doggy daycare would be an excellent option for him to stay happy and engaged. Yards MUST be adequately and fully fenced; electric or underground fences are not accepted.

Ongoing Health

Bear is fully vetted, neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and on heartworm and flea prevention.

Training & Support

Bear is house-trained but not yet crate-trained. He has a history of food-related resource guarding due to his past on the streets. While he is comfortable with his trusted caregiver, he can become protective of his food around other dogs and must be fed separately. This behavior is expected to diminish with consistent feeding schedules and positive reinforcement training. He is otherwise a social dog with no history of aggression towards people or animals.
