Meet Gunner! Gunner is a charming 5-year-old, 10-pound Dachshund with a big heart. While his past is a bit of a mystery, it's clear he's had some tough times. Gunner can be a little shy and nervous around new people, needing time to warm up and decide who to trust. But once he feels safe, he blossoms into the sweetest, most loving companion you could ask for! He adores snuggling, going for walks, playing with his toys, and is especially fond of his canine foster siblings. Gunner thrives in the company of other friendly dogs and would love to have a doggy friend in his new home.

Ideal Home

Gunner would be happiest in a calm home where he can build trust. He strongly prefers the quiet companionship of adults and would do best with middle-aged or senior adults, empty nesters, or someone with a quieter lifestyle who is looking for a loyal best friend.

Ongoing Health

Gunner is partially potty trained, but like many small male dogs, he does tend to mark indoors. Belly bands have been successful in his foster home.

Training & Support

Gunner needs patience and kindness to overcome his initial nervousness. He isn't the dog who will greet strangers with enthusiasm, but he rewards those who earn his trust with deep affection and loyalty.
