About Venus

Meet Venus!

Venus is a 5-year-old spayed female Staffordshire Terrier/Lab mix who weighs about 45 lbs. This gorgeous girl is incredibly sweet and affectionate, the kind of dog who will gently rest her head on your lap and gaze at you like you're her whole world. Venus is calm and people-oriented, happy to match your energy whether it's relaxing on the couch or joining you for an outdoor adventure. She loves to run, wrestle, and explore with her canine companions, especially shining during backyard zoomies. Venus also loves toys and prefers playing with her humans over other dogs. Her zoomies and little "woo" of excitement are just part of her fun, goofy charm. She adores playing in water, whether it's a kiddie pool or a stream on a trail, she'll splash around with joy. She also rides great in the car, making her a perfect companion for road trips, park visits, or trail days.

Ideal Home

Venus would thrive in a home where she's truly part of the family. While she hasn't met young children, her foster believes she could do well in a family with older, respectful kids who understand boundaries and enjoy including her in their day-to-day fun. A home without cats would be best, as Venus shows a strong interest in chasing them.

Ongoing Health

Venus is a spayed female and up-to-date on vaccinations.

Training & Support

Venus is fully house-trained, crate-trained, and trustworthy when left loose in the house. She is learning to improve her leash manners, as she can pull some, but she is a quick learner and very food motivated. She eats with enthusiasm and does best when fed separately using a slow feeder to prevent her from sneaking bites of other dogs' meals.
