Meet Toby, a sweet 6-month-old, 26-pound Carolina-Corgi mix pup with a heart as big as his adorable ears! Toby's story began with heartbreak when he was abandoned at a high-kill shelter with his mom. While his mom found a home, Toby was left scared and alone. Thankfully, a loving foster stepped in and gave him the chance he deserved. He was initially terrified of the outside world, but by watching his foster sisters, he's slowly gaining confidence. Now, Toby happily goes outside on leash, loves playing with his foster siblings, and enjoys sunbathing. Toby is shy with new people and needs time to adjust to new environments, but once he feels safe, he blossoms into a loyal, calm, gentle, and non-confrontational companion. He has wonderful manners around other animals and currently lives harmoniously with six dogs and one cat. He thrives in the company of other pets and looks to them for reassurance. Toby is also a smart puppy and a quick learner, but we feel he would do best in a quieter home without young children, as he expends a lot of energy observing his surroundings. For the family willing to give him patience and kindness, Toby will reward you with unwavering loyalty and a truly special bond.
Ideal Home
A happy, confident, playful dog in the home is required to help Toby build confidence. Toby would do best in a quieter home without young kids. A securely and fully fenced yard is a must; we do not accept electric or underground fences.
Ongoing Health
Toby is fully vaccinated with 3 rounds of shots, neutered, and heartworm negative. He is kept on heartworm and flea preventatives.
Training & Support
Toby is currently puppy pad trained and is doing well with indoor potty training. While he is becoming more comfortable with going outside on leash, we are focusing on building his confidence at his own pace. With a patient family and a confident dog companion, Toby is expected to transition to outdoor potty training easily.
