Pearlie is a 5-year-old, 50lb spayed female pittie mix with a beautiful snowy coat and soulful eyes. She's come a long way from being too scared to leave her kennel, and now she's showing her affectionate, silly, and deeply loyal personality. Pearlie needs a patient and understanding home to help her continue to blossom into the wonderful dog she's meant to be. She loves her stuffies and will happily entertain herself, but her favorite thing might just be giving kisses. She bonds deeply with her people and thrives on that connection. When meeting strangers, Pearlie can be fearful, but this is due to her past and not her heart. She has likely experienced physical abuse, and while she's made incredible progress, she will need time, patience, and a gentle approach to continue building trust. She's also nervous in the car and a bit scared of the dark outside, but with support, she's steadily gaining confidence.
Ideal Home
Pearlie would do best in a calmer environment where she can continue to decompress and feel secure at her own pace. Her ideal home is one that moves at her pace – calm, patient, and understanding of her journey. Someone who sees the beauty in a dog who needs a little extra time and will celebrate every small win along the way. Pearlie adores kids and has lived with children from 3 to 18 years old, but supervision with smaller kiddos is recommended as she can get a little jumpy when excited. She coexists well with dogs in the 50-80 lb range, but introductions should be slow and structured.
Ongoing Health
No specific health conditions are mentioned in the listing. Pearlie is spayed.
Training & Support
Pearlie is fully house-trained and does great in a crate. She needs consistency and patience with leash walking as it is a work in progress. Slow, structured meet-and-greets are important for her social interactions with other dogs and when meeting new people.
