Cruiser is a charming 3-year-old, 14lb companion who joined us in August 2023 after a difficult start. He was found as a stray with a broken hip and fractured rear leg, likely due to being hit by a car. He has since undergone FHO surgery for his hip and has a metal plate in his leg. Cruiser is a resilient pup who responds well to simple exercises, like leg stretches, that encourage him to bear weight, which we can demonstrate. He's already settled into a loving foster home where he's learned house training, crate training, and leash walking. He showed no issues with cats or farm animals like horses, chickens, goats, and sheep. While initially skittish, his foster experience has helped him build confidence. He's most at ease around people when other dogs, especially small to medium-sized ones that understand canine body language, are present. Cruiser is a good boy who will need a patient owner to help him build trust, but his heart can be won with special treats! We believe he might be a Beagle mix, as he has their coloring but is smaller with slightly shorter ears. He's become one of our beloved house dogs, often found napping on the futon or joining his furry friends in their beds. Cruiser is sure to steal your heart!

Cruiser thrives with patient owners who can help him build trust. He is most comfortable in a home with other small to medium-sized dogs that can read canine body cues.
