DOG FOSTERS NEEDED

Fostering a dog is a heartwarming experience that can make a world of difference in their life! Every successful adoption journey begins with a loving foster home, giving dogs a much-needed break from the shelter environment. We often have a greater need for medium to large adult dogs who thrive with a little extra attention and a chance to show their true personalities.

Think of Florence, a shy Shih Tzu mix who transformed from scared and overwhelmed in the shelter to a confident pup in a foster home, eventually finding her forever family. Or Banana, a fearful puppy who blossomed with patience and a canine role model in his foster home, leading to his adoption by his foster family.

Not every foster situation leads to adoption, and some dogs only need a short stay. But every foster home provides invaluable insights into a dog's behavior and needs, offering them comfort, stability, and a chance to decompress. By opening your home, you could be the reason a deserving dog gets a second chance!

Ideal Home

We are looking for individuals or families willing to open their homes to dogs of all sizes, with a particular need for medium to large adult dogs.

Ongoing Health

All necessary medical care is provided by Open Door Animal Sanctuary.

Training & Support

Guidance and support are available to help you and your foster dog succeed.
