Livia Alastair is an approximately 3-year-old retriever/hound mix, weighing about 15 lbs. Livia is special, not because of any medical or physical needs, but because of her shyness. She came from a hoarding situation where she didn't receive the socialization she needed as a puppy. We are using all our magic to help her feel safe and build confidence, and it would be wonderful if she could continue this journey in her forever home. She is very sweet and submissive, adores other dogs, and will need a strong, confident canine companion in her adoptive home. We are happy to educate potential adopters on how to nurture confidence in shy dogs, encouraging slow steps to explore the world and build resilience.
Ideal Home
Livia would thrive in a home that is committed to helping her build confidence at her own pace. She needs a strong canine leader to help guide her. Due to her shyness, a home without young children is recommended, as their fast movements and unexpected noises could be overwhelming for her. A securely fenced yard is also a must for Livia.
Ongoing Health
Livia is up to date on vaccinations, current on preventatives, and microchipped. She is blind in one eye, but this does not hinder her in any significant way.
Training & Support
Livia is a shy dog who needs consistent positive reinforcement and patience to build her confidence. We offer a behavior and training program with full access to resources to help guide you along the way.
