Nettie

Meet Nettie!

Nettie is a happy, adventurous girl who approaches life with enthusiasm, curiosity, and a smile that seems permanently attached to her face. She was born deaf and partially blind due to a double merle breeding, but she has adapted beautifully and doesn't let her challenges define her. Whether she's exploring new trails, playing with her toys, splashing in the water, or wrestling with dog friends, Nettie lives every day to the fullest. She was rescued from Texas with her siblings after being left behind at a veterinary clinic. Nettie loves being involved in whatever is happening and never wants to miss out on the fun.

Ideal Home

Nettie would thrive in an active home with outdoor enthusiasts and families with older children or teens. Homes with other playful dogs would be wonderful for her, as she loves to play with and follow other dogs. She can overwhelm cats with her puppy energy and may accidentally knock over smaller children during play due to her exuberance.

Nettie was born completely deaf and partially blind.

Training & Support

Nettie is an incredibly smart puppy who learns quickly through routine, consistency, and hand signals. She is working on leash manners, polite greetings, managing excitement around new people, continued socialization, and visual communication and hand signal training. Because Nettie is deaf, she cannot hear verbal commands or recall cues. For her safety, she will always need a secure leash during outings, a securely fenced yard if off-leash, and a family committed to visual communication. She responds very well to redirection and guidance from her people.
