Meet Gus!

Gus is a handsome Black and Tan Coonhound mix with a heart as big as his soft, floppy ears. Though originally intended as a hunting dog, Gus didn't quite fit his former humans' expectations and was left behind in a rural area. Despite this, Gus's spirit remains undimmed. He loves generously, trusts wholeheartedly, and greets each new day as a fresh adventure. This sweet boy is learning that life doesn't have to be about "performing." These days, Gus is all about relaxing, being a pup, and enjoying the simple joys like standing in the sunshine, soaking up the warmth, and taking in all the amazing outdoor smells. Watching the world go by with his nose working overtime is one of his favorite pastimes. Gus does wonderfully with other dogs and is great with kids. He's house-trained and crate-trained, making him an easy addition to a loving home. Cats are still a question mark, but he's working on it and learning more every day. He loves squeaky toys, and a big comfy bed is an absolute must after a day of exploring. Gus would be an amazing adventure partner – camping, hiking, fishing, you name it – just be sure to plan for a few sniff breaks along the way! Afterward, he's more than happy to curl up inside where it's warm and cozy. Ideal Home

Gus would love a home where he can be an adventure partner, enjoying the outdoors and then curling up for cozy relaxation. A big, comfy bed is a must for this boy.
